I haven't watched the whole video, but you definitely need to get Linear UVB. the coils have been proven multiple times to not emit enough UVB. sure, it gives a LITTLE, and you won't notice much difference right away but after a few years, MBD will definitely be present. Hope you see this and make a change! I love how most of your animals are raised in the warm Florida sun so they get everything they need. But your indoor babies definitely need the tube UVB. 😊❤

Regarding his symptoms / sluggishness, I hope you learned that it's of paramount importance to have an accurate diagnosis before deciding what treatment should be employed, rather than the guessing / groping in the dark / pick-out-of-the-hat approach to diagnosis. As I'm sure you now realize, it was a waste of time (and perhaps money), not to mention totally ineffectual, to attempt to treat an intestinal parasite condition with UVB light! Hope that not only you, but others who follow your channel, can learn from your potentially disastrous (to the animal) approach. To touch on another crucial issue, it's important to know the origin of an animal before you acquire it - glad you got lucky in the case of Bobby Rubino. Now don't delay in coming up with a suitable middle name! (if Bobby turns out to be a female, I think that the lizard would be amenable to having its name spelled "Bobbi", or being called "Roberta"). Love how you and many of your subscribers embrace anthropomorphism!!!

I would stop feeding crickets as they carry multiple parasites. Both my veterinarian and the place where I get my Leopard Geckos food from told me to stay away from crickets and I am glad I have listened to them. My friend lost their lizard two months ago from getting a parasite from being fed crickets.

You should always wash your hands before AND after handling EACH reptile otherwise you can transfer infections between them. Also you can transfer certain infections to them from yourself (i.e. salmonella) and vice versa. Keep the food, utensils, equipment etc separate to avoid transferring infections.

Do you know if the seller you purchased from misled you or were they in turn misled by their supplier?

Yea just from seeing the stringy feces in the water he’s soaking in I’d bet it’s primarily parasitic infection with maybe a secondary bacterial infection. So obviously I think you’re taking the right steps, and you can pretty much access the best minds in the hobby. And you’re one of them. Good luck and best wishes, recovery is always a little sketchy with reptiles, especially a “farm Bred”. Which is always a gamble in itself...

Feed him eggs this will help 1000% and thank me later 😉.. Black through monitors need alot of Calcium in the frist year.. I had my Fair share of my babys having this happen...

Your just having problems that a lot of people have with young savannah. The market was just flooded with black throats and there was no way that that many were being hatched here in the US . But they shouldn’t have been listed as CB

Nooo please wash your hands before handling another reptile after touching one with parasites. Call me an internet doctor all you want but this came directly from my VET after purchasing my dragon sick. Bobby and his items should be quarantined until his stool comes back negative. Kevin is a legend in the monitor game . I'm glad you contacted him and got Bobby on the right track . I had similar issues with a Savannah monitor and had to get the same meds because he was loaded with parasites after taking a fecal sample in to be tested . Unless you can prove they're captive bred I would stay away from imports like Kenan said . Wishing the best for both baby monitors and I feel good that hes gonna grow up to be a big strong dragon. Hes a fighter .

Mr Kenan seems like he hit his head a few too many times wrecking his bike or maybe he just not very smart. Guys has more issues with his animals than anyone. Maybe you got to much and need to cut back so you can spend more quality time with few animals and less issues bc you can actually care for them instead of being a hoarder and neglecting things bc you got to much

If you ever get the the white dewormer that he has get it in the powder form it lasts longer and you can use it on other animals

Kenan make sure to change out that needle on the syringe often. They dull fast and it will cause less trauma to the tissue if you use a sharp needle. Gods speed Bobby!

I know it sucks going through things like this, but in the end, in my opinion, it creates such a stronger and better bond between you and your reptile.

If you think Bobby had parasites he should be well away from the rest of your collection and you should not be handling other animals after handling him without sterilisation

Maybe contact a guy who has a YouTube channel called animal1guy. Maybe he can give you some Tipps or help. He rescued quite a lot lizard 🦎 which were near death, unfortunately some couldn’t be saved. But he definitely knows a thing or two.

With the amount of wild caught animals that struggle with pet owners it amazes me how anything survives in the wild

As I said the last time it looked like his backing up was him trying to get away from the pain he had near the back of his body. I've seen that same thing in horses and dogs. And now this little guy.. I hope he's going to be fine soon. Just watch for impaction. Hopefully he's on his way to full recovery and he'll have a long ànd loving life with you Kenàn.

This is exactly what happens to 99% of all savannah monitors that are imported. They are full of flagellates when they come in. But because they are so cheap almost nobody takes them to the vet. Albigularis are more expensive and have more serious owners that do go to a vet more often. All Asian imported monitors are full of flagellates too btw. It is also very hard to get rid of. The medication will probably work, but he can have relapses in the future. Captive bred animals that are treated usually do not relapse.

1st thing people when your animal's are sick or show sign's take them to the vet don't try and play Doctor yourselves.

I think it's funny that people are freaking out about them being outside. I put my savannah outside, when the weather permits. And sure his temperament changes some, but not enough to be any issue.

Don't underestimate the power of heat when it comes to monitor immune systems. A hot basking temperature makes a HUGE difference and those black throats like it hot. Ive heard of blackthroats basking at over 170 degrees farenheit (surface temps, not air temp). Basically certain bacteria can't tolerate heat like a monitor can, so by basking in a high temperature, monitors are essentially "cooking" a lot of the nasty bacteria. At the very least they are making their bodies less hospitable to certain bacteria.

Would it be good to keep him on newspaper for a while to see what he poos out. Compared on the bark. I wish all the best! Beautiful critter. I would quarantine them. Keep the black water monitor away from the sick one for a couple months till all is clear.

Question, if he had been in the wild, would these parasites not have killed him without medical intervention? Most, the vast majority, or wild hatched monitors don’t survive their first month, for this reason as well as predation. I don’t agree with the farms false practices and I doubt they run sustainably given the condition of these animals, in theory if the mothers of a species are released after producing a clutch of eggs and being cared for, and if even half of the babies are released healthy where they were found, this sort of farm could have a positive impact on at risk species. I am often in favour of regulation over prohibition. Prohibition leads to bad animal management and poaching, regulations foster a community working toward supplying a demand without causing environmental harm. If the demand is filled in an ecologically friendly way, the poachers lose their market.
